The processes involved in this piece involved in the work are a blend of what I’ve learned as a fibers student and my mother’s artistic processes. I hand-spun, indigo dyed, and tapestry wove the alpaca fiber.
This was a gift for my mother. Each woven tapestry represents something personal to our family’s history. I feel myself lost, in astray when I think about it all. The processes of creating this woven work was my search for clarity in how i perceive it. The material used and the stitching together symbolizes my mother’s artistry and my emotion need for connecting the chaos.
